Hi my name is Steven hall I am a 15-year-old male who lives in Perth.

 

I am going to talk to you about how life is at my age if you were living here.

 

If you’re into sport there are heaps of places you can play sports, and there are also heaps of different sports to suit your likings. There are also venues were u can watch sports. Some grounds you can go to are: Subiaco oval that holds Australian Rules football. The WACA ground, which holds international and domestic Cricket which ever you like. Subiaco oval is also known for holding rugby matches.

 

Some activities you can play are: AFL that cost’s about $160

each year. You can also play cricket for a club, which would cost $7 per game, and you play around 20 games a year. Another sport is basketball, which costs you $6 per game and you play about 20 matches a year with a break in between the 20 matches. There are also more sports to play but I am not shore on the details on them.

 

Some social events you can do are going to carousel, which is a big shopping centre. A big event in the west is going to the movies. Carousel has one of the best movie cinemas in WA.  To do some of those things it would

Cost about $30 if you want to go to the movies and get lots of

Drinks and lots of lollies to eat while you are watching the movie.

Another activity you can do is paint balling, which is very fun and also good exercise. To go paint balling it costs $30 plus you have to pay for more paintballs if you run out and want more.

 

Some part time jobs that are available for anyone to work at are places like: Hungry Jacks, McDonald’s, KFC, Chicken treat which

Are all fast food restaurants. If you work at a fast food restaurant you can look at getting paid around $9 dollars an hour and you don’t work during school hours but your working hours are different every day. If you work at a shopping centre like Kmart or Target or local supermarkets your wages are most likely going to be higher and you work a fixed number of hours each week.

 

The education you go through your life is up to you. There are many schools all over WA some private but most are public. I go to a public school, which is called Lynwood senior high school. Whilst you are in high school you do have to wear uniform it is compulsory. If you choose to go in a career like building & construction or things like that WA has a range of TAFE’s located in most business areas. But if you want to become a doctor or something with a degree WA also has very good universities that you can get your degrees from.

 

At the moment I do not get a lot of homework because I’m not doing any hard courses

But if you choose to do hard courses your homework load will increase.

 

If you want to travel from one place to another there are bus and train facilities that will get you there and they cost a max of  $2 per ride but if you like to be alone you can go by taxi which does cost a lot more the further you travel.

 

In Australia there are all kinds of houses big ones small ones old ones new ones it just depends on how much you are willing to pay for a house. If you want a house with 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and a pool you’re looking to pay about $400,000, which is an average house. But a lot of people these days around Australia are choosing to rent because it is easier and it is a smarter way in some aspects. Renting has all different prices it depends on where you want to rent and what type of house it is.

 

In Western Australia you can stay with normal television, which is free, or you can pay a bit to get what we call foxtel, which is what the people in the eastern states are watching. Foxtel is very exciting and has a lot more channels and is better quality then normal TV. The programs you’ll find most teenagers watching is sport programs and programs such as wrestling, cricket but there is also women’s shows on pay TV and there are lots of kids channels as well.

 

In conclusion Perth and Australia in general if the best place to live I wouldn’t want to live anywhere in the world. There are heaps of job prospects places to live and places to go and I’iscahm glad that I live here and I hope that you will find out how good Australia is too.
