(Note these are unofficial results from our own cases, online forums and other sources, they are not DIBP figures).
It looks like the 1000 cut off point for 189 EOIs was about 2nd August 2017 – unofficially. For this to happen, there must have been a huge increase in the 70 and above EOIS from the non-pro rata occupations, Nurses, civil Engineers, Telecomms Engineers etc.
we think this likely happened:
All 239 Accountants invited
All 66 Auditors invited
All 78 ICT Business Analysts invited
Maybe 35 out of 50 Other Engineers invited
Maybe only 30 of 50 Electronic Engineers invited
Maybe only 50 of 89 Mechanical Engineers invited
Maybe only 200 of 310 Programmer Developers invited
Maybe only 10 of 65 Network professionals were invited
(and about 292 invitations given then to all the other NON pro rata occupations this round)
This means that none of the Pro rata 65 point backlog was touched and all unused invites would go to the 489 system – so it looks like family 489 is happening for 5 out of the 8 Pro Rata Occupations.
So I think it fair to assume that the 1000 cut off will be in the 70 point region for 23rd August 2017 – meaning no invites for anyone at 65 and 60 going forward with no possibility unless the 1000 limit is increased.
