Premier Mark McGowan has just requested Perth is removed from the RSMS visa scheme –
A decision that will not save WA jobs as these applicants already have work rights to work in the nominated positions (most are eligible for a 2 year work visa or can work on their student visas).
Worse it will cost the WA economy over 1.6 billion dollars over 4 years as 17% of international students only chose Perth to study because Perth has RSMS status. The Eastern states who will benefit from this must be rubbing their hands together in glee …
